Epilepsy? Yea, I've got it now!

Posted in Group:

Hi everyone, I started having 'symptons' about 4 years ago, but my Dr. thought I was some crazy woman and thru me out the door! My new Dr. sent me to my neurologist and of course: EPILEPSY....mine is weird tho,,,I've got 'Walking Epilepsy'!! I hate it, it's tore my world apart! My son has left huge bruises on my during my 'spells'. I had one in Kroger the other day, I walked from the Pharmacy to the Meat Dept. I left my purse in the Pharmacy!!! I was so upset, I couldn't take it anymore!!! I'm just lookin' for a friend to talk to on here,,,someone who can relate and will understand when I sound like a goofball on here!!!

I don't have epilepsy, but I can offer an "ear" to talk to and a shoulder to cry on. Feel free to message me anytime you need to! I hope you called the practice of your first doctor and told them what a great job of diagnosing you he did! So glad you found a doctor that listened and gave you a diagnosis you can work from.

Blessings-
CK

Yeah, I started out as the crazy lady talking to herself, sometimes staring and not listening to what others were saying. I have been to Walmart, gotten to the checkout, given the cashier my keys and walked out the store. I have driven with my children in the car for about 20 blocks, without stopping, when I came to, didnt know where I was at! Dont ever feel you are alone, because there is always someone who has been where your at and even a bit further. I was diagnoses about 4 years ago, my seizures came about on their own no medical reason, no head trama. Its hard to adjust to at first, but as you see that this is you and now a part of your life you accept it. Im 33 with 3 children.

Yea, i've spoken like a crazy person to my new boyfriend a couple of times already...i have them all the time, yea my son michael has had to stop the car while i was driving 3 times i can remember, so i drive as little as possible. I thought for sure my purse was gonna get stolen this last time i was at Kroger's...i was like running my fat butt to the pharmacy!!! Mine started around the end of 2007, but my family dr. was less than worried about my symptoms!! they 'bothered' my husband so he left the family and still won't apologize! I think what bothers me most is i don't think like i use, i don't remember ANYTHING like i use and i'm still suppose to be the strong one...and it's just not working out that way.

I know how ya feel, it's really hard for me to pick words out for sentences, it's like the words don't exist and i'm pulling at strings just to remember what i was trying to say! My mom just plays them off to 'stress'...not like its an actual condition. But it's a serious condition. I black out all the time, wherever I go, I pray i stay awake!!! keeping a job has been so hard!!! i 'blacked' out in the pharmacy at krogers and came to in the meat department!!!! Embarrasing at Best!!!! Keep your head up and whever you need to talk, you can talk to me!
